Greendale Revitalization Initiative

The Greendale Revitalization Initiative is a Master Plan initiative that will study ~ 250 acres of land within the northern portion of Worcester, known as the Greendale neighborhood. The proposed study area traverses from the Interstate-190 interchange along West Boylston Street to the Mountain Street corridor, encompassing the Higgins Industrial Park as well as a portion of the St. Gobain campus, newly acquired by New Garden Park, Inc. NGP is seeking to execute a coordinated, comprehensive Master Plan process that will enhance the Greendale area’s small business corridor along West Boylston Street, review the Higgins Industrial Park and the ongoing efforts within the area, as well as review the impacts of the new Amazon facility located at the former Greendale Mall site. Through this Master Plan process, NGP hopes to identify how these various areas can be connected and improved, giving great attention to the future redevelopment of the ~55-acre Saint Gobain campus and how its redevelopment can have a lasting and far-reaching impact on the surrounding neighborhoods.
