Tim Quinn grew up in Worcester and attended Worcester Public Schools. He continued his education at Quinnipiac University, graduating with a degree in Marketing. Tim started his career working pharmaceutical sales in New York, but after 10 years, he wanted to make a career change. With a longtime dream of wanting to open an Irish pub, Tim opened Quinn’s Irish Pub on West Boylston Street in Worcester in 2016, with the guidance of his friend and business partner. Prior to becoming the owner of a restaurant, Tim had no previous hospitality job experience.

After a few years of gaining experience and success, Tim decided it was time to open another location. Upon hearing that the Blue Plate Lounge in Holden was for sale, he knew it would be a perfect location for another restaurant. Tim selected both his restaurant locations based on their great neighborhoods and surrounding community.

The SBA 504 loan process began in 2018 in partnership with Bay State Savings Bank and BDC Capital. While completing the Phase One environmental report, the results required the need for additional testing. However, with the expertise of the WBDC, we were able to guide and assist Tim through the process.

The COVID-19 pandemic created numerous obstacles and challenges for Tim and the construction of Quinn’s Blue Plate; however, he was able to overcome it all and opened the doors in December 2021, and their loan was funded in 2022.
